when I was at the restaurant, I (meet)some of my friends.
I should say I have met some of my friends because here there is no specific time but in your exercise no 1 at check answers you correct the verb (met ) only

I am afraid you did not understand the topic well. You can not say (I have met) because you are using Time in your sentence which is (When I was at the restaurant) This is a Time Phrase. You should know that When is used for Time. I hope it is clear.

if u say that( i have paid it yestarday) its a wrong sentance soo that means we should nt make a sentance with (when) in perfrct tence bcoz (when) requires the manton time
